Boeing 737-700

The Boeing 737-700 is part of the 'Next Generation' 737 family, combining a new wing and modern cockpit with the fuselage length of the earlier Classic-generation -300. Its blended winglets, added on later production aircraft, reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency on longer flights. A militarised version, the P-8 Poseidon's predecessor testbed and the C-40 Clipper transport, is also built on this same airframe. It remains a common short- to medium-haul workhorse for airlines around the world.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Boeing 737-700 starts as a Common catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Boeing, the 737 Classic family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
