Boeing 737-900

The Boeing 737-900 is the largest member of the 'Next Generation' 737 family, stretched to carry more passengers than any earlier 737. An extended version, the 737-900ER, added extra emergency exits and a strengthened structure to legally carry its full passenger capacity, since the original -900 was limited by evacuation rules despite its size. It became Boeing's direct answer to the larger Airbus A321 in that segment. It was eventually succeeded by the even longer 737 MAX 9 and MAX 10.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Boeing 737-900 starts as a Common catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Boeing, the 737 Classic family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
