British Aerospace RJ-100

The Avro RJ100 is a re-engined, modernised version of the four-engine BAe 146-300, produced after British Aerospace's regional aircraft division was renamed Avro International. Like its BAe 146 predecessor, its four smaller engines make it exceptionally quiet, letting it operate from noise-restricted airports that louder twin-engine jets can't use. It's the largest member of the Avro RJ family, carrying more passengers than the smaller RJ70 and RJ85. Its combination of short-field capability and low noise kept it in demand for niche routes even as more efficient twinjets became the industry norm elsewhere.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the British Aerospace RJ-100 starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer British Aerospace, the BAe 146/Avro RJ family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
