British Aerospace BAe-146-100

The British Aerospace BAe 146-100 is the smallest member of a distinctive four-engine regional jet family, nicknamed the 'Whisperjet' for how quiet it is compared with other jets of its era. Its four smaller engines, rather than the usual two, let it meet strict noise limits at airports located close to residential areas, such as London City Airport. That same layout also gives it excellent short-field performance, letting it use runways too short for most other jets its size. Relatively few of the smallest -100 variant were built compared with its larger -200 and -300 siblings.
