Atr ATR-72-500

The ATR 72-500 is an upgraded version of the ATR 72 regional turboprop, fitted with more powerful engines and six-blade propellers for better climb performance and lower cabin noise than earlier -200 models. Its 70-plus-seat cabin and low fuel burn made it a favourite for regional airlines connecting smaller cities that don't justify a full-size jet. Alongside the smaller ATR 42, it remains one of the most common regional turboprops still flying today. Many have been converted into dedicated freighters for express cargo operators.
