Atr ATR-72-600
The ATR 72-600 is the latest generation of the ATR 72 regional turboprop, with a modernised glass cockpit and further-improved engines over the earlier -500 model. A specialised maritime patrol version, sometimes called the ATR 72MP, adds surveillance radar and sensor turrets under the fuselage for coast guard and naval patrol duties. The base passenger version remains one of the most fuel-efficient ways to fly short regional routes. Its high wing and rugged landing gear let it operate from shorter, less-developed airstrips than most regional jets can use.
