Boeing 747-300

The Boeing 747-300 was the first 747 variant to stretch the distinctive upper-deck hump, extending it further back to add extra seats above the main cabin. That longer upper deck became the standard shape for every 747 built afterward, including the far more common -400. It also introduced a straight internal staircase to the upper deck, replacing the original spiral stairs used on earlier models. Relatively few -300s were built before Boeing moved on to the much more successful 747-400.
