Airbus A-330-800

The Airbus A330-800 is the smaller of the two re-engined 'A330neo' variants, combining the A330's proven airframe with new, more efficient engines borrowed from the A350 program. Despite the efficiency gains, it sold in very small numbers, since most airlines preferred either the larger A330-900neo or a completely different, newer widebody. Only a handful of airlines operate the type today, making it one of the rarest recent Airbus widebodies. Its scarcity is a notable contrast to how common its A330-300/-200 predecessors became.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Airbus A-330-800 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Airbus, the A330 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
