Kawasaki XC-2
The Kawasaki C-2 is Japan’s largest domestically built military transport, designed to replace both the C-1 jet transport and older C-130s. Its two large turbofans give it jet-like speed while the rear ramp and high wing retain traditional tactical-transport practicality. The C-2 has also been adapted for electronic-intelligence and aerial-refuelling roles, illustrating the flexibility of the platform. Its long, clean fuselage and swept wings make it look more like a strategic airlifter than its smaller C-1 predecessor.

Did you know?
The C-2's cargo hold is wide enough to carry a UH-60 helicopter whole, a load the C-130s it replaces could never fit.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Kawasaki XC-2 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Kawasaki, the XC-2 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
