Hongdu A-5
The Nanchang Q-5 was a Chinese attack aircraft developed from the MiG-19/J-6 fighter but redesigned with side intakes and an internal weapons bay under the fuselage. Moving the intakes freed the nose for a new radar and navigation arrangement, while the long pointed fuselage suited low-level strike missions. The Q-5 served for decades with China and export operators, including Bangladesh and Pakistan. Its altered MiG-19 ancestry makes it an unusual Cold War strike aircraft.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Hongdu A-5 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Hongdu, the A-5 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
