Dyn'aero MCR-01

The Dyn'Aéro MCR01 grew out of designer Michel Colomban's earlier MC-100 Ban-Bi and became the two-seat kitplane that launched Dyn'Aéro after the company's July 1996 first flight. Built mainly from carbon fibre and flying on an 80-horsepower Rotax engine, it combines a stall speed as low as 80 km/h with a top speed nearing 300 km/h, an unusually wide performance envelope for a homebuilt. More than 500 examples are flying worldwide, supplied either as amateur-build kits or, where local rules allow, factory-completed. It remains the base design from which Dyn'Aéro's later two- and four-seat family branched.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Dyn'aero MCR-01 starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Dyn'aero, the MCR-01 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
