Cessna TR182 Turbo Skylane RG
The Cessna TR182 Turbo Skylane RG combines a turbocharged engine with retractable landing gear, the fastest combination Cessna offered in the single-engine Skylane line before the model was discontinued. Retracting the gear in flight noticeably reduces drag compared with the fixed-gear T182, adding a useful speed advantage on cross-country trips. That extra complexity, and the added maintenance retractable gear demands, made it a less common choice than the simpler fixed-gear Skylane variants. Cessna ended production of the retractable-gear Skylane line in the late 1980s, leaving well-kept survivors sought after by pilots today.
