Bombardier CL-600 Regional Jet CRJ-1000

The Bombardier CRJ1000 is the largest and final stretch of the CRJ regional jet family, extending the original Challenger-derived fuselage further than any earlier CRJ variant. Its extra length pushed it into direct competition with the larger Embraer E-Jets, blurring the line between traditional regional jets and small mainline narrow-bodies. Despite the extra capacity, it sold in smaller numbers than the shorter CRJ900, as many airlines preferred Embraer's more modern E-Jet family in that size class. It marked the end of new development on the CRJ line, which traces all the way back to the Challenger business jet of the late 1970s.
