Boeing 727-200RE Super 27
The Super 27 conversion also transformed Boeing 727-200s, the stretched version of the classic three-engine trijet. New JT8D-217 engines and aerodynamic changes improved performance and reduced noise enough to keep aircraft viable under stricter airport rules. The longer fuselage gave the -200 more seats than the original 727-100, while the three rear engines preserved the type’s unmistakable silhouette. Only a limited number received the conversion, making it a rare sub-variant.
