Beech 58 Baron

The Beechcraft Baron 58 stretched the original Baron 55's fuselage for a roomier six-seat cabin, becoming the definitive and longest-produced version of the Baron family. Its double rear cargo doors make loading bulky items noticeably easier than most piston twins of similar size. Business owner-pilots and flight training organisations alike have used it for decades, valuing its speed, reliability, and, compared with a single-engine aircraft, an extra margin of safety over water or mountains. Beechcraft still builds new Baron 58s today, making it one of very few piston twins still in active production.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Beech 58 Baron starts as a Common catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Beech, the 58 Baron family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
