Airbus Helicopters H-225 Cougar Mk2+
The Eurocopter (now Airbus) EC225 Super Puma, marketed today as the H225, is a large twin-engine helicopter developed from the earlier AS332 Super Puma with a modernised glass cockpit and a distinctive five-blade main rotor. It has been widely used for offshore oil-and-gas transport and search-and-rescue missions requiring long range over open water. A temporary worldwide grounding followed a fatal 2016 gearbox-related accident in Norway, and some North Sea operators have since favoured other types. Military and VIP transport variants, including a version used to transport heads of state, remain in active service today.
