Yakovlev Yak-130
The Yakovlev Yak-130 is a Russian advanced jet trainer built to prepare pilots for modern fourth- and fifth-generation fighters, with flight characteristics deliberately tuned to mimic the handling of far more advanced combat aircraft. Its digital fly-by-wire controls can be reprogrammed to simulate the handling qualities of different fighter types, letting a single trainer fleet prepare pilots transitioning to several different frontline aircraft. A lightly armed combat-capable version has also been exported as an affordable light attack aircraft for smaller air forces. It has become Russia's standard advanced jet trainer and a notable Russian aerospace export success.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Yakovlev Yak-130 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Yakovlev, the Yak-130 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
