Xian MA-60
The Xian MA60 is a Chinese-built twin-engine regional turboprop developed from the earlier Xian Y7, itself based on the Soviet Antonov An-24. It was built primarily to serve smaller domestic Chinese airports and was later exported to a number of developing countries in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific as an affordable regional airliner. Its rugged, simple design suits shorter, less-developed runways that larger jets can't use. A series of high-profile accidents among export operators drew scrutiny to its safety record, and several countries have since restricted its use on international routes.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Xian MA-60 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Xian, the MA-60 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
