Tai TF Kaan

The TAI KAAN is Turkey’s indigenous fifth-generation fighter programme, designed to reduce reliance on imported combat aircraft. Its twin-engine, stealth-shaped airframe uses internal weapons bays and advanced sensors, although many systems remain under development. The first prototype flew in 2024, making it one of the newest fighter types in the catalogue. With only prototypes flying and production still ahead, it is a genuinely rare sight even among experimental military aircraft.

The Kaan's imported F110 engines are meant to be temporary — Turkey plans to switch to its own indigenous TF35000 engine by around 2032.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Tai TF Kaan starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Tai, the TF Kaan family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
