Sukhoi Su-25
The Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot was built specifically for close air support of ground troops, a heavily armoured, slow-flying attack jet broadly comparable in role and philosophy to the American A-10 Warthog. Its titanium-armoured cockpit tub protects the pilot from ground fire, letting it survive hits that would down a lighter, unarmoured aircraft. It saw extensive combat in Afghanistan during the Soviet war there, and has since flown in numerous post-Soviet conflicts including Ukraine. Its rugged, simple design has kept it in frontline service across dozens of air forces decades after its Cold War debut.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Sukhoi Su-25 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Sukhoi, the Su-25 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
