Sikorsky S-70

The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk has been the backbone of US Army helicopter operations since the early 1980s, replacing the Vietnam-era Huey in the troop-transport role. Its airframe is built to absorb the energy of a hard landing or crash, protecting the crew far better than earlier helicopter designs. Countless military and civilian variants exist, from armed gunships to airborne command posts and search-and-rescue aircraft. It has seen continuous combat and humanitarian use for decades across multiple conflicts and disaster responses worldwide.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Sikorsky S-70 starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Sikorsky, the S-70 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
