Northrop Grumman MQ-4 Triton

The Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton is a high-altitude maritime surveillance drone derived from the Global Hawk. It can remain airborne for more than a day while using radar and sensors to monitor huge areas of ocean. Unlike crewed patrol aircraft, it is designed to work with the P-8 Poseidon by providing persistent wide-area coverage. Its very long wing and tall V-tail are characteristic of a drone built for endurance rather than speed.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Northrop Grumman MQ-4 Triton starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Northrop Grumman, the MQ-4 Triton family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
