Mudry CAP-20
The CAP 20 was Auguste Mudry's attempt to give France a purpose-built single-seat aerobatic competitor, developed alongside the two-seat CAP 10 trainer but as its own structural design. It first flew in January 1976 and was adopted by the French Air Force's aerobatic demonstration team, the Équipe de Voltige Aérienne. Pilots found its original triangular-decked fuselage and wing heavier and less responsive than hoped, so Mudry reworked it into the lighter CAP 20L within a few years, and only a small number of aircraft were built before that redesign was itself replaced by the CAP 21.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Mudry CAP-20 starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Mudry, the CAP-20 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
