Mooney M-22

The Mooney M22 Mustang was the company’s attempt to build a pressurised high-performance personal aircraft, combining a sleek Mooney-style airframe with a powerful turbocharged engine. It was the first single-engine production aircraft with a pressurised cabin, but the complexity made it expensive to build and maintain. Only 36 were completed before the programme ended. Its rarity is remarkable because the M22 looks like a conventional piston single until its unusual cabin and large engine installation are examined.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Mooney M-22 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Mooney, the M-22 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
