Mil Mi-34
The Mil Mi-34 is a small Russian piston helicopter designed as a trainer and light utility aircraft, a very different niche from Mil’s famous heavy transports. It has a conventional two-blade rotor, compact cabin, and Lycoming-style piston-engine performance rather than the turbines of larger Russian helicopters. Only limited numbers were built, and later efforts to develop turbine versions did not create a widespread fleet. Its rarity is striking because it carries the Mil name usually associated with much larger machines.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Mil Mi-34 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Mil, the Mi-34 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
