Mil Mi-28
The Mil Mi-28 Havoc is Russia's dedicated modern attack helicopter, built with a narrow, heavily armoured tandem-cockpit fuselage broadly comparable in role to the American AH-64 Apache. Its armoured cockpit tub is designed to protect the crew from small-arms and light anti-aircraft fire, and the entire airframe is built to remain controllable even after significant battle damage. Unlike the earlier Mi-24 Hind, it carries no troop compartment at all, dedicating the entire airframe purely to the attack role. It has seen extensive, costly combat use during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, alongside the Kamov Ka-52.

The Mi-28N variant carries a distinctive spherical radar dome above its rotor mast, letting it hunt targets at night or in poor weather.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Mil Mi-28 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Mil, the Mi-28 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
