Mikoyan MiG 1-44
The Mikoyan MiG 1.44 was a Russian technology demonstrator for a next-generation fighter, featuring a delta wing, canards, and twin engines. It first flew in 2000 after a long and troubled development programme, but only one prototype was completed. The design was meant to compete with emerging Western stealth fighters, although it was not itself a mature operational stealth aircraft. Its single brief flight makes it one of the rarest and most recognisable Russian fighter prototypes.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Mikoyan MiG 1-44 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Mikoyan, the MiG 1-44 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
