Kamov Ka-126
The Kamov Ka-126 is a Romanian-built development of the Ka-26 utility helicopter, retaining the Kamov family’s coaxial rotors. Two rotors turn in opposite directions on the same mast, eliminating the tail rotor and giving strong control in confined areas. Unlike the twin-piston Ka-26, the Ka-126 used a single turboshaft engine and interchangeable mission pods for cargo, passengers, or agricultural work. Its compact coaxial layout makes it a rare but unmistakable Soviet-bloc utility helicopter.
Did you know?
Two rotors spinning opposite ways on one mast give the Ka-126 no tail rotor — that coaxial Kamov layout is its unmistakable signature.
