Interplane Skyboy

The Skyboy is a side-by-side two-seat ultralight built by InterPlane of Zbraslavice in the Czech Republic, designed in 1992 specifically as a trainer for the German market. Its pusher-mounted engine sits behind the cabin, giving both occupants an unobstructed forward view, while the fabric-covered aluminium wing and welded airframe keep the design simple to maintain. Roughly 100 were built. In the United States it was adapted to qualify as a two-seat trainer under the FAR 103 ultralight exemption, and it was later offered as a light-sport aircraft, extending its trainer role well beyond its original European market.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Interplane Skyboy starts as a Uncommon catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Interplane, the Skyboy family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
