Ilyushin Il-112
The Ilyushin Il-112V was a Russian light military transport intended to replace ageing An-26 aircraft. Its high wing and rear ramp were designed for loading vehicles and cargo onto short, unprepared runways. Only two prototypes were completed; the first crashed in 2021 and the programme was subsequently cancelled. The Il-112V is therefore less a service aircraft than an example of the difficulty of creating a modern replacement for long-established Soviet utility transports.
