Iai 1123 Westwind
The IAI Westwind began life as the Aero Commander 1121 Jet Commander before Israeli Aircraft Industries acquired the programme and developed it into the Westwind. It became Israel’s first major business-jet manufacturing success and earned a reputation for robust construction and good high-altitude performance. Its distinctive low-mounted swept wing and rear engines reflect the first generation of business jets. Later Westwind derivatives led directly to the Astra and eventually the Gulfstream G100 family.
