Grumman C-2 Greyhound
The Grumman C-2 Greyhound is the US Navy’s carrier-onboard-delivery aircraft, carrying people, mail, and urgently needed parts between shore bases and aircraft carriers. Its high wing and rear loading ramp make it a small transport rather than a conventional airliner, while its four-blade propellers allow catapult launches and arrested landings at sea. The C-2 is a close relative of the E-2 Hawkeye, but lacks the radar dome. It was replaced on many missions by the V-22 Osprey.

Did you know?
Its close cousin, the E-2 Hawkeye, carries a rotating radar dome on top; the Greyhound's plain fuselage is the giveaway that it isn't one.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Grumman C-2 Greyhound starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Grumman, the C-2 Greyhound family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
