Grumman A-6 Intruder
The Grumman A-6 Intruder was built for all-weather, low-level carrier attack missions, with two crew seated side by side beneath a broad canopy. Its sophisticated radar and navigation system allowed crews to strike targets at night and in poor weather when many contemporary aircraft could not. Intruders flew heavily in Vietnam, Lebanon, and the Gulf War. The type’s long nose and wide cockpit distinguish it from almost every other US Navy attack jet.
