Fd-Composites ArrowCopter

The ArrowCopter AC10 is an Austrian gyroplane with an enclosed composite cabin and a pusher propeller behind the occupants. Like other gyroplanes, its large rotor is not engine-driven in normal flight; forward motion spins it to create lift. The streamlined fuselage and retractable landing gear give it a much more aircraft-like appearance than older open-cockpit autogyros. Its small production scale makes it a rare sight compared with conventional light sport aircraft.

Did you know?

The ArrowCopter AC10 is a gyroplane, not a helicopter — its rotor spins freely from airflow rather than being engine-driven.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Fd-Composites ArrowCopter starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Fd-Composites, the ArrowCopter family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
