Diamond DA-50

The Diamond DA50 is a large, single-engine composite aircraft built to carry a full cabin of passengers and baggage, considerably roomier than Diamond's smaller DA40. Its diesel engine, running on widely available jet fuel rather than harder-to-find avgas, gives owners simpler fuel logistics on long cross-country trips. A single, wide cabin door and generous baggage compartment set it apart from many cramped single-engine piston aircraft in its class. It targets owner-pilots who want a family-sized, efficient touring aircraft without stepping up to a twin or turboprop.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Diamond DA-50 starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Diamond, the DA-50 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
