Dassault Super Mystère B2
The Dassault Super Mystère B2 was the first Western European fighter capable of sustained supersonic flight in level conditions. It combined a swept wing with an afterburning engine and served France, Israel, and Honduras. Israeli Super Mystères saw combat in the Six-Day and Yom Kippur Wars, while Honduras flew the type in the 1969 Football War. Its place in history comes from helping Dassault master the supersonic fighter designs that led to the Mirage family.

Did you know?
Its oval nose intake visually echoed the American F-100 Super Sabre's, a resemblance that set the Super Mystère apart from earlier round-nosed French jets.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Dassault Super Mystère B2 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Dassault, the Super Mystère B2 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
