Convair ET-29
The Convair T-29 was a military navigation trainer based on the Convair 240 airliner. Its cabin was fitted with training stations, astrodomes, and navigation equipment so crews could practise the long-range navigation skills needed by bombers and transports. The aircraft’s airline ancestry gave it more space and endurance than a purpose-built trainer. T-29s trained thousands of US Air Force navigators during the Cold War, though the type is now far less familiar than the civilian Convairliners from which it came.
Did you know?
Built from the airliner-derived Convair 240, the T-29 trained Cold War navigators using astrodomes and cabin stations rather than carrying passengers.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Convair ET-29 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Convair, the ET-29 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
