Cessna T182 Turbo Skylane

The Cessna T182 Turbo Skylane adds a turbocharger to the standard fixed-gear Skylane, maintaining sea-level engine power at altitudes where a normally aspirated Skylane would start losing performance. That extra high-altitude power lets owner-pilots climb over weather and terrain that would force a standard Skylane to fly around, useful for mountain flying. Its fixed landing gear keeps maintenance simpler and cheaper than the retractable-gear turbo Skylane RG variant. It remains a popular choice for pilots who want more altitude capability than a normally aspirated Skylane without moving up to a twin or turboprop.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Cessna T182 Turbo Skylane starts as a Uncommon catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Cessna, the T182 Turbo Skylane family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
