Cessna 525 CitationJet

The Cessna CitationJet (CJ) family is one of the best-selling light business jet lineups ever built, prized for combining jet speed with straightforward, single-pilot-friendly handling. It descends directly from the original Citation's approachable design philosophy, aimed at owner-pilots rather than requiring a professional flight crew. Successive CJ generations added winglets, more powerful engines, and modern avionics while keeping the same compact, easy-to-fly character. Its long production run has made it one of the most common private jets seen at smaller regional airports.

Before 'CJ' branding began with the CJ1, this original 525 was marketed simply as the 'CitationJet' — the family's original name.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Cessna 525 CitationJet starts as a Uncommon catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Cessna, the 525 CitationJet family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
