Caiga AG-600 Kunlong
The AVIC AG600 Kunlong is one of the largest amphibious aircraft in the world, designed to operate from both runways and open water. Its high wing and four turboprops keep the propellers clear of spray, while a boat-like hull allows water takeoffs for firefighting and maritime rescue. China developed it alongside the Y-20 transport and C919 airliner as a national aerospace programme. The aircraft can scoop water from a lake or sea to drop on forest fires.
