Avicopter AC-313
The Avicopter AC313 is China’s largest indigenously developed civil helicopter and is based on the Harbin Z-8, itself descended from the French Super Frelon. Its three engines and large cabin suit search-and-rescue, firefighting, transport, and disaster-relief work. The aircraft has demonstrated high-altitude operations on the Tibetan Plateau, a demanding environment for helicopters. Its triple-engine arrangement is unusual today and immediately separates it from most modern civil utility helicopters.

Did you know?
The AC313's three engines are a rare layout today, immediately setting it apart from almost every other modern civil helicopter.
