Antonov An-178
The Antonov An-178 is a modern jet cargo aircraft derived from the An-148 family, but it has a redesigned rear fuselage with a loading ramp for vehicles and pallets. Its high-mounted wings and engines keep the intakes clear of debris, supporting operations from rough or damaged runways. Antonov designed it as a successor to ageing An-12 transports, but only a handful have been completed. One aircraft made headlines in 2021 by appearing at the Dubai Airshow in a new Ukrainian livery.

In CatchFlights the Antonov An-178 starts as a Legendary catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you. The first catch of a legendary type pays a bonus of its own.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Antonov, the An-178 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
