Amx A-1

The AMX International AMX was designed jointly by Italy and Brazil as a comparatively affordable tactical strike aircraft for attacks at low level. Its single Rolls-Royce Spey engine is the same basic family once used by larger aircraft such as the Buccaneer and Phantom, an unusual choice for a small attack jet. Italian AMXs flew reconnaissance and strike missions over Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq. Brazil later modernised its fleet with new avionics and radar.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Amx A-1 starts as a Very rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Amx, the A-1 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
