Alpi Pioneer 400
The Alpi Pioneer 400 scales up the Pioneer family to four seats, giving Alpi Aviation's Italian kit-aircraft range genuine family and short cross-country capability rather than just two-seat touring. It keeps the low-wing, wood-and-carbon-fibre construction and retractable tricycle gear of its smaller Pioneer 300 sibling, with winglets added to its trapezoidal wing. A Rotax 912S engine driving a variable-pitch propeller gives it a cruise speed around 220 km/h, brisk for a four-seat homebuilt design. Like other Pioneers, it is available as an amateur-built kit or a factory-completed aircraft.
