Alpi Pioneer 200
The Pioneer 200 is an Italian two-seat light aircraft from Alpi Aviation of Pordenone, sold both as a complete aircraft and as a kit for amateur construction. Unlike many ultralights, it uses a wood structure with a rectangular-planform wing chosen specifically to keep construction costs down, under a bubble canopy with side-by-side seating. Powered by an 80 hp Rotax 912UL engine, it cruises around 100 knots on modest fuel burn, making it popular for private touring and flight training across Europe. Its low-wing, tricycle-gear layout sets it apart from the high-wing STOL types common in the same weight class.

In CatchFlights
In CatchFlights the Alpi Pioneer 200 starts as a Uncommon catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.
A catch counts for the manufacturer Alpi, the Pioneer 200 family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.
Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
