Aerospatiale AS-532A2 Cougar Mk2
The Aérospatiale AS532 Cougar is a military development of the Super Puma family, designed for troop transport, search-and-rescue, and special missions. Its twin engines, large cabin, and four-blade rotor allow it to carry troops or rescue equipment in demanding weather. The Cougar has served with air forces around the world, including European operators in mountainous and offshore environments. Its long service history makes it a familiar military helicopter, but individual Mk 2 variants are much less common.
Did you know?
Cougar Mk2 airframes are hard to tell apart from civilian Super Pumas, since sensors and countermeasures mark the military role, not the airframe shape.
