Aeroprakt A-24 Viking

The Aeroprakt A-24 Viking is an amphibious light aircraft with a high wing, pusher propeller, and boat-shaped hull. Its layout allows it to operate from water while keeping the propeller clear of spray, and optional wheels allow use from land as well. The A-24 is aimed at recreational pilots who want access to lakes and remote strips without owning a larger seaplane. Its striking hull and tail boom make it very different from Aeroprakt’s conventional landplanes.

Did you know?

Among light amphibians, the A-24's boat-hull design lets it alight on water without the outrigger floats used by many float-plane conversions.

In CatchFlights

In CatchFlights the Aeroprakt A-24 Viking starts as a Rare catch. The tier is an editorial judgement of how special a sighting of this type is. The more often you catch it, the closer it moves to Common for you.

A catch counts for the manufacturer Aeroprakt, the A-24 Viking family and the model in your collection, and the daily Type Rating quiz asks about the types of each family.

Catch it yourself.CatchFlights shows the aircraft flying near you on a radar, so a type like this one is only a catch away when it passes overhead. Explore CatchFlights.
